Gogglebox stars Pete and Sophie Sandiford barely recognisable in childhood snaps

Gogglebox stars Pete and Sophie Sandiford have shared adorable an childhood snap in which they look completely different to their adult selves.

The siblings are seen enjoying themselves together at a birthday party.

Pete mocked his ears in the caption to the snap, saying "ears", alongside a gold trophy emoji.

He also tagged the pair's great uncle - Chuckle Brothers' Paul Chuckle.

The comedian posted it on his Instagram page with the caption: "This is a while ago @sandifordpete @sophiesandiford1 #grandadsbirthday @juliejohnson31".

Sophie was among the commenters, saying: "Gosh that is from a while ago!! Love to you and auntie sue."

Pete and Sophie also paid tribute to their co-star and former hotelier Andrew Michael, who tragically died aged 61 on Friday.

As Sophie, 24, shared the heartbreaking news of his death, she wrote: "Rest in peace Andy".

Andrew's death comes after another popular Gogglebox star Mary Cook passed away aged 92 a week ago.

Channel 4 and Gogglebox producers Studio Lambert announced Andrew's death earlier this week.

In a statement it said: "We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Gogglebox star Andy Michael at the age of 61 following a short illness.

"Andy passed away last weekend with his family by his side.

"Retired hotelier Andy, who brought much wit and insight to Gogglebox, was one of the show's original cast members, appearing in the very first episode in 2013.

"Beloved father to Katy, Alex, Pascal and Louis, and cherished husband of Carolyne, Andy was a much-loved and respected member of the Gogglebox family, and he will be very sadly missed.

"Our love and thoughts are with Carolyne and the entire family. The family have asked for privacy at this very sad time."

Blackpool siblings Pete, 26, and Sophie, 24, have become firm fan-favourites since they made their debut on Gogglebox in the tenth series of the Channel 4 show which aired in 2017.

In the first two series, the siblings appeared from their parents' home.

They also have a brother called Harry and a younger sister named Lucy, the latter of whom has appeared on their social media posts.

Pete and Sophie have shared snaps with their famous great-uncles Paul and Barry Chuckle, before after Barry Chuckle revealed their connection in 2018 on social media.

After Barry Chuckle's death that same year, Sophie paid tribute, noting: "A truly lovely and funny man to be around.

"You filled millions of childhoods with laughter and entertainment including mine and Peters.
