Gogglebox stars Jenny and Lee issue apology after upsetting fans

Last night, Gogglebox duo Jenny and Lee shared an emotional update with fans as the current series of the show ended.

Posting on Instagram, the pair revealed that after three months of living together, Jenny is finally leaving Lee's caravan and going home to her husband.

But fans were left worried after Jenny and Lee shared a 'concerning' tweet on their account.

Jenny and Lee took to their joint Twitter account to clear up the confusion about them leaving the show as the 17th season wrapped.

The Hull pair tweeted: "It’s Friday it’s Gogglebox D Day for Jenny. Did Jenny get it right see ya at 9 to find out xx #Gogglebox"

One fan was quick to search for answers on if this was the final season for the pairs, writing back to the tweet: "Lee are you guys finished with Gogglebox or just saying goodbye for end of the series? You guys have been so funny."

The pair quickly calmed fans, confirming they will be returning for the next season in September.

They wrote: "Just saying goodbye to series 17 back in September sorry."

Jenny announced on the show that she is due to start receiving her pension next month, as she revealed her age on the show.

She said: "I'm 66 you know, I get my pension in June, I've been notified."

Lee chirped back: "You are one of those old women aren't you who goes 'don't you know how old I am, I'm 66 you know?'"

Jenny said: "Oh no, I don't ever say that. I tell them I'm 48 and I've had a hard life.

"I never tell anybody I'm 66, even though I'm not really bothered about my age."

The revelation of her age added to the rumours that the pair would be leaving the show after this season.

Taking to Instagram last week, the best friends shared a video to their 515k followers.

Lee wishes their fans a "happy Friday" before Jenny insists it's a sad Friday.

"Why is it so sad?" Lee asked, before taking a deep breath and putting on a shocked face.

Jenny said: "Because it's the last one."

"It's our last filming week this week so we're filming today," Lee confirmed to the camera.

Interrupting her best friend Jenny confessed: "I'm going home soon," as Lee made a show of being excited for her to leave.

"Have a great Friday everyone last week of filming for us of series 17," they captioned the video.
