Gogglebox stars' famous friends and family from Chuckle brothers to Nigel Farage

Many Gogglebox stars have now become household names, due to their fun personalities and hilarious quips on the hit Channel 4 show.

We've come to love the families and friends who critique and review popular and topical TV shows and the breaking news stories of the week.

But while they're now celebrities themselves, some cast members also have a claim to fame via their friends or family.

From comedy legend uncles to a supermodel distant cousin, a powerful political friend and even a celebrity love triangle, there are some very intriguing relationships, the Mirror reports.

Let's take a look at some Gogglebox connections to the rich and famous.

Naomi Campbell

Supermodel Naomi Campbell is related to former Gogglebox star Sandi Bogle.

The secret was exposed during a task while Sandi was on Celebrity Big Brother back in 2017.

The celebrities had to guess which of their fellow contestants a statement belonged to - and they correctly chose Sandi.

After getting gunged as part of the challenge, Sandi said: "Naomi is my cousin, her mother is related to my mother, so yeah, family."

Later, Naomi also appeared on a celebrity version of Gogglebox alongside Noel Gallagher and Kate Moss.

The Chuckle Brothers

The Chuckle Brothers aren't the only famous members of their family.

Paul Chuckle, whose real surname is Elliott, sent the internet into meltdown when he shared a snap of himself sat in between Blackpool brother and sister Pete and Sophie Sandiford.

The caption confirmed he is their great uncle, saying: "This day 2018 with my great niece and nephew @PeteandSophie #Gogglebox".

Paul also posted a pic with his wife Sue alongside Pete and Sophie as they enjoyed lunch out together.

And their fans seems to think that comedy runs in their blood.

One of Paul's followers replied: "Can so see Barry in Pete. Now I know where he gets his comic side from. May Barry's legend live on in Pete."

Nigel Farage

Gogglebox legends Steph and Dom Parker formed a close bond with Nigel Farage.

Steph and Dom's hotel was in South Thanet, the Kent constituency where Farage stood in the 2015 general election, so they met up for a bizarre one-off show.

The former UKIP leader had been warned about the Parkers' reputation for boozing before he rocked up and replied: "Don't take me on."

Things didn't go strictly to plan as Nigel spilled champagne on his trousers and had to wear a pair of Dom's ripped jeans.

Rather than politics, they were more interested in quizzing Farage about the break-up of his first marriage, the state of his personal finances and and the testicle he lost due to cancer.

However, while they did hit it off, it didn't change the Parkers' political stance.

“Don’t expect me to vote UKIP!” smiled Dom cheerily as he waved his guest goodbye.

Stephanie Pratt and Edele Lynch

While George Gilbey was a popular character with Gogglebox fans, he was a relative unknown in the showbiz world when he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2014.

George Gilbey first shot to fame in series 2 and quickly became firm favourites with viewers alongside his mum Linda and late step dad Pete McGarry, who died in June 2021, just days after being diagnosed with bowel cancer..

Despite being one of the least famous people in the CBB house that year, George somehow managed to charm two celebs.

George actually became embroiled in an awkward love triangle.

His attention was initially on Stephanie Pratt, with George claiming he was "in love" with The Hills star to fellow housemates after they shared a kiss.

However, once Stephanie was evicted he very quickly moved onto B*Witched singer Edele Lynch.

That same night they had a cheeky snog outside before kissing in bed together.

George finished in fourth place, then had to face the wrath of Stephanie when he left the house.

"I'm obviously a very bad judge of character. Edele's my best friend and so is George," said Stephanie on Bit On The Side.

"You [Edele] and George were my best friends in the house, that was the worst betrayal."

George and Edele went on holiday to a caravan park after leaving the house, but unsurprisingly their romance fizzled out.

The Essex lad and his family did finally return to Gogglebox in 2016 after a three series absence, but George has made less regular appearances.
