Gogglebox star Lee Riley forces Zoe Ball to apologise as he makes sweary BBC Radio 2 appearance

Gogglebox star Lee Riley left Zoe Ball's radio show in chaos as she was forced to apologise for his swearing not once but THREE times. The Channel 4 favourite was joined by his co-star and friend Jenny Newby on the Zoe Ball Breakfast show on BBC Radio 2 to help celebrate Gogglebox's 10th anniversary.

It has been a decade since the programme burst onto our screens with viewers tuning in to watch other every day folk watching the small screen and giving their thoughts and opinions. Many of the show's contributors have since become the nation's favourite armchair critics with fans still eagerly waiting for each episode on a Friday night.

So on Wednesday (March 8), Jenny and Lee joined Zoe in her Radio 2 studio to chat about their time on Gogglebox before playing a game which soon descended into a sweary commotion.

The duo were played clips of themselves from Gogglebox and had to guess what TV show or film they were reacting to. Lee responded to one with: "Oh yeah that was that green sh*t." And quickly realising his blunder Lee apologised.

However, he ended up swaring more. "Oh s***, I said s***, sorry.," he added as Zoe also jumped in to tell her listeners: "Sorry for the language."

Zoe then joked that they had previously had former Oasis lead singer Liam Gallagher on the show, and he had managed to get through it without swearing. "Lee it’s ok, we’ll just say sorry, sorry for the language, Jenny, stop laughing," Zoe said before she then quipped: "If it's going to be anyone [who swears] let it be Lee from Gogglebox."

But listeners also saw the funny side as @liamandrews123 tweeted: "CREASING AT LEE FROM GOGGLEBOX SAYING S**T ON RADIO 2." While @sharyn_matildac said: "Absolutely loved them this morning," and @johnatasylum echoed: "Loved listening to them this morning."

Jenny and Lee returned to screens last month from Lee's caravan in Hull for the new series of Gogglebox, alongside other show favourites including sisters Izzi and Ellie Warner, sibling duo Pete and Sophie Sandiford, Manchester's The Malones and The Siddiquis.

The pair, who have been friends for decades, took to social media earlier this week to raise a glass to the Bafata award-winning show that has made them a household name as well as their fellow telly watchers. In a sweet video of the pals having a drink, Lee said: "Hi everyone, we would just like to wish all the families on Gogglebox - past and present, from the chief execs, to the PD's, to the runners - happy birthday. Ten years of Gogglebox today." Jenny then chimed in: "And to the families who make it Gogglebox."

Fellow Gogglebox star Ellie Warner commented on the post: "Cheers. Happy birthday." Before fans of the show also flocked to the comments section to wish the show a happy 10 years on air as well as share their surprise at it having been on screen for that long.
