Gogglebox star June Bernicoff reveals she's reluctantly left Liverpool after 62 years

Former Gogglebox favourite June Bernicoff has left the city of Liverpool after 62 years to start a 'new chapter' in her life.

June has moved out of the Allerton home she shared with her 83-year-old husband Leon, who starred alongside her on the hit reality show until he died in December 2017.

June left the Channel Four show after Leon passed away, calling their journey on the programme together a "great adventure."

She told fans on Twitter: "Good Bye Liverpool my home for 62 years! Reluctantly leaving.

"Thank you guys I’ll miss your warmth, humour and affection! Very special people."

June, who was a much-loved voice over 10 series, has explained that she's left to be near her family in 'Warwickshire in the West Midlands.

She added: "Thank you for all your good wishes. Yes, I am moving near my family in Warks and I’m looking forward to a new chapter in my life.

"Good Night Folks! I’ll tweet again soon when my WiFi is set up. Have a great weekend!"

June has previously revealed how the people of Liverpool have been a comfort following the loss of husband Leon.

She said previously: "So many people would squeeze my hand and ask me if I was OK and how I was doing.

"People were really, really kind."

The couple met in Liverpool in 1955 and were together for 60 years before his death.

The longest time the couple were apart was four days.

On the show Leon regularly spoke about his love for Everton FC and his loathing of David Cameron.

During his run on the programme - which shows families across Britain watching television - he once described Nigel Farage as a "d***head" and was not afraid to make his political views known.

He was also regularly seen trying to sneak unhealthy snacks when his wife was in the kitchen.
