Gogglebox star June Bernicoff has left Liverpool after 62 years.

'Honorary Scouser' June on over the nation from her cosy Allerton home she shared with her 83-year-old husband Leon, until his death on December 23, 2017.

June left the Channel 4 show immediately after his death confirming it would not be the same without him.

The Liverpool Echo reports she revealed the heartbreaking news that she is leaving the city and the home where the show was filmed to fans on Twitter.

She wrote: "Good Bye Liverpool my home for 62 years! Reluctantly leaving.

"Thank you guys I’ll miss your warmth, humour and affection! Very special people."

June added that she is moving closer to her family in 'Warks'.

Jay F tweeted: "Aww glad you’re going to be closer to your family. This city will miss you."

Twitter user Matt invited June to a litter picking event but she replied: "Sorry, won’t make time for litter picking but VERY fond memories of Sefton Park! "

That Irish One wrote: "Good luck with your move. Liverpool has lost such a warm, caring and loving person, but for the past 62 years you have been the cornerstone of your area.

"Family is the most important and you will be welcomed with open arms. Leon will always be beside you wherever you are."

Siobhan wrote: "All the best for your new adventure June, I hope you have great fun being nearer family.

June later added: "Thank you for all your good wishes. Yes, I am moving near my family in Warks & I’m looking forward to a new chapter in my life.

"Good Night Folks! I’ll tweet again soon when my WiFi is set up. Have a great weekend!"

June previously spoke about how the people of Liverpool helped her get through the loss of husband Leon.

She said: "It was strange at first,  Leon was always with me  at the supermarket - usually at the deli counter looking for freebies.

"And so when people recognised me I could tell they wanted to say something to me but didn't know if they should come over, so I just smiled and then they approached me.

So many people would squeeze my hand and ask me if I was OK and how I was doing.

"People were really, really kind."
