Gogglebox star Amy Tapper said he feared her dad would stop breathing as he battled coronavirus.
Johnathan Tapper, 52, was left fighting for his life after contracting the virus.
His wife Nikki and children Amy and Josh also came down with COVID-19, but iy was Jonathan who was left seriously ill and forced to self-isolate away from them.
Nicki, 47, cared for him for two weeks after he was left struggling to breathe and could barely move.
Speaking on Friday's Lorraine on ITV, the Tapper's were back in good spirits but discussed the frightening time
Amy, 20, said: "This one night I kept coming down every hour to check up on him because I was so worried.
"I saw Josh and he was like 'what are you doing?' and I said 'Dad's still breathing it's ok!'"

Johnathan eventually needed an oximeter to analyse his oxygen levels, and antibiotics, which later helped to improve his conditon.
"It wasn't too great," he said on suffering from coronavirus. "The symptoms I had were a fever, feeling very weak mainly and coughing, and I literally couldn't move.
"At one point I couldn't walk up the stairs and if I did manage to get halfway up, I was really struggling for breath."
While it was Jonathan that suffered the most from his symptoms, the rest of the family also had mild doses.
"I didn't have it as bad as Jonathan. I felt very weak, we all lost our taste and smell apart form Jonathan," Nikki said.
"The thing was Jonathan seemed stable at the beginning. He hadn't moved for two weeks off the couch, but I had to be okay to look after him because he was so poorly.
"The frightening thing was that day nine or 10 I kind of plummeted and [I had to message] Amy and Josh to say I couldn't get out of bed so to make sure Jonathan was okay."
The are now recovering and doing well at home.
Earlier this week, the Tappers showed that they're on the mend by taking part in a TikTok dance video together.
They took part in an energetic synchronised routine to The Weeknd's Blinding Lights - on the video platforms most popular numbers doing the rounds at the moment.
