Gogglebox sisters Ellie and Izzi Warner 'should be axed' from Channel 4 show over #MeToo joke

Gogglebox fans were left outraged over Ellie Warner's controversial joke about the #MeToo movement.

During Friday night's episode of the Channel Four show , Ellie confessed she had made a game out of the movement against sexual harassment and sexual assault, which spread virally on social media in October 2017.

She told her sister Izzi that she and her friends grabbed the other women's breasts or bums.

She said: "I played tag not so long ago... but we called it #MeToo and basically we had to chase each other and either grab somebody's boob or bum. And they were then it."

The MEN reports Ellie's sister Izzi scolded her over the comment, saying: "I don't think you are supposed to make a game out of the #MeToo movement Ellie."

Izzi also came under fire after she suggested Prime Minister Boris Johnson should have "put his k**b in her gob and shut her up" while being questioned by a woman.

Outraged Gogglebox fans took to Twitter calling for Channel 4 to axe the sisters from the show.

"That’s pretty horrible. Ellie made a game out of the #MeToo movement? It’s not a joke," one person wrote.

"Ellie and her sister are just vile and uneducated. Joke about #MeToo? Why are they still on @C4Gogglebox @Channel4?"

Another wrote: "Disgusted with the woman on Gogglebox who made a game out of the #MeToo movement. Even more disgusted that Gogglebox included that in the episode."

"It's called tag, not tig. And making a game out of #MeToo is just SO bloody disrespectful! Absolutely appalling," said another.

And another Gogglebox watcher said: "Can't believe someone made a joke game out of #MeToo where you play Tag and grab each others breast or bottom. Izzy and Ellie need removing from Gogglebox."

The M.E.N. has contacted  Channel Four and representatives for the sisters for comment.
