Gogglebox's 'the Malones' give update on next series as they finish filming - but fans complain it's 'too long' to wait

It feels like it only started last week but it's time for another series of Gogglebox to come to an end.

The stars of the hit Channel 4 show have been posting about their final days filming from the comfort of their sofas.

The 17th run of the popular programme comes to an end this Friday (May 21) after three months on air.

And Manchester's very own Malone family have shared a video on Instagram to say goodbye to fans and give an update on the next series.

The clip features Tom Sr and Julie with son Shaun and daughter Vanessa - who joined the series this year in place of younger brother Tom Jnr - as they address the camera from their usual spots.

"Well that’s it for this series. Have a good summer and we’ll see you all in September," Julie said in the family video.

"Hopefully things will be better when we get back for the next series but it’s been great being on there, we’ve all enjoyed it, haven’t we?’ Tom Sr said, to which Vanessa replied: "Yeah, we had a great time."

Tom joked that they're off to "sink some pints" for the summer and "have some fun".

"Take it easy, keep healthy," he added. "See you in September," they said as they waved for the camera.

But the news hasn't pleased Gogglebox fans.

"That’s TOO LONG to wait!! Enjoy your summer and look forward to watching you all again in September," commented one.

Another said: "Nooooo! Don’t leave us!!! Gogglebox is the best hour of the week! Miss u already."

"NOOOOO," a third simply added with a crying face emoji.

A fourth said: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I’ll miss ye too much. Where will my laughs come from. Have a lovely summer."

"Noooo, too long to wait," another commented.

Fellow Gogglebox star Paige Deville shared a look at the sweet gift bosses sent as the current series wraps up filming.

Paige, who stars on the show with her mum Sally, admitted to finding the end of filming hard.
