Gogglebox's Tapper family reveal frightening battle with coronavirus

The Tapper family from Gogglebox have opened up about the frightening few weeks they've had after all contracting coronavirus.

It was revealed last weekend that dad Jonathan had been worst affected by COVID-19, being left severely ill after being struck down by the virus.

His wife Nikki told the Daily Star: " One night Jonathan came home from work and was unable to move.

"He had a cough and high temperature. He laid down on the sofa and – with no exaggeration – he stayed there for two weeks in our lounge room."

All of the Tappers ended up with COVID-19 and, appearing on Friday's Good Morning Britain, revealed what a scary time they've had.

Jonathan told host Lorraine Kelly: "I was really poorly. I literally couldn't move; I was really struggling for breath."

Daughter Amy, who has appeared on Celebs Go Dating as well as Gogglebox, revealed: "One night I was up checking on dad every hour. I was so worried."

And Jonathan's son Josh added: "We were all worried that if we got worse who would be able to look after dad."

Unlike other shows which have been forced to suspend production due to the coronavirus outbreak, Gogglebox is still filming, with cast members shooting their reactions to TV shows using cameras installed in their homes rather than being filmed by a crew.
