Gogglebox's Stephen Webb flooded with support from co-stars as he’s forced to pull out of filming

Gogglebox star Stephen Webb has been forced to pull out of the first episode just days before the new series begins.

The hit Channel 4 show is due to be back on-screen this Friday after months off-air however Stephen and his partner Daniel Lustig will be missing from the first episode after testing positive for Covid-19.

The Channel 4 favourite posted a message to his Instagram followers explaining he was unable to film as he continues to self-isolate.

He kept it casual wearing a grey T-shirt and a black cap with one of his pups for company.

Sharing the news with fans he said: "This is a message for the Gogglebox crew.

"Good luck filming this week, can't wait to see you Friday, I need a laugh, desperately."

He added: "I'm off, we can't film this week because I've got Covid."

Looking through the window, Daniel added: "We locked him up in this room for everyone's benefit."

Panning the camera around to show where he was self-isolating, Stephen added: "Look at my little room. Tiny little bed, little bathroom, little old me stuck out here on me own.

"Anyway, can't wait to watch you on Friday, have a good one."

He captioned the clip: "Gogglebox Back this Friday C4 9pm , gutted we won’t be back for episode one looking forward to seeing everyone."

Stephen's co-stars quickly rushed to support him, including Leeds Ellie Warmer and Caerphilly-based couple Dave and Shirley Griffiths.

Ellie Warner said: "Hope to see you back very soon! Get well soon."

Dave and Shirley Griffiths commented: "It's a nightmare isn't Stephen, but it's a break for Daniel.”

Gogglebox returns Friday, February 18 at 8pm on Channel 4.
