Gogglebox is one of the highlights of our week - let's face it, there's not a lot of competition for that during lockdown - but there's one aspect to the show that's had us hooked in recent weeks: spotting hidden messages and themes.
Much like the stars of I'm a Celebrity, some of the Gogglebox cast have developed running gags or hidden messages to send to their fans - or just because they find it amusing.
We've gathered a couple for you below, but we're interested to hear if you've spotted any other patterns over the weeks. Let us know yours in the comments below.
Cake a la Malone
This is surely an obvious one: the Malones have a set of cakes in front of them each week. In the above image it's eclairs - yum - while in the same episode the family gorged themselves on cherry Bakewells and Battenberg cakes. In the opening titles, it's biscuits. A couple of weeks ago, it was cookies and some form of pancake or French toast, then later on it appeared as if it was a lemon cake. Need we go on?
Then again, who doesn't like a selection of desserts in front of them on a Friday night?
A mug's game
This one's slightly trickier: Pete and Sophie can be seen sipping from the most extraordinary mugs each week.
From the dogs in the image above to, in the same episode, mugs in the shape of a llama, a tortoise, a Volkswagen camper, a grizzly bear, a koala, a lemon, and a gorilla, the siblings have impeccable taste in tea receptacles. Elsewhere this series we've even seen the pair drinking from a fox, an octopus, and a crocodile. Truly magnificent.
Teeing off
Lee (of Jenny and Lee fame) is a fan of travelling, it seems, since he can't resist a holiday-themed T-shirt. In the image above he's sporting a Los Angeles, California top, but in the same episode we also spotted him in a New York T-shirt. Do you think he's actually been to all these places?
