TV fans can't get enough of the surprisingly simple Channel 4 show Googlebox which is returning to our screen for a 18th series tonight.
But even those who have worked on the show, which celebrates our love affair with watching telly, have admitted that they were sceptical about whether the idea could ever work.
In just eight years, the show is now one of Channel 4's favourites with millions hooked each week offering up a witty snapshot review of the week's TV.
Ahead of the new series, Mary Killen, who has appeared on the show with husband Giles since 2015, has revealed she didn't think the show would ever get off the ground.

Mary also revealed that she refused the show when she and Giles were originally offered a role, but her hubby managed to twist her arm.
She told The Sun: “In the beginning, nobody thought it could possibly work. It would just be absurd.
“I didn’t want the invasion of privacy but Giles wanted to be on, so I agreed.
“But it’s a very simple, brilliant idea. You get snippets of the good programmes and you can tell, rather like speed dating, whether you’d want to see the whole show as a result."

The TV star also admitted the show has become more than just a witty review but gives a 'snapshot of people in the country'.
And it's popularity hasn't gone unnoticed with accolades and famous followers with even Prime Minister Boris Johnson reportedly watching the show.
Last week Googlebox scooped up a National Television Award for Best Factual pro-gramme.

And of course during lockdown the show ratings soared with it's relatable snap shot of normality at a time of inconceivable uncertainty when the pandemic hit.
Stuck at home, some six million Brits tuned in to watch various show contributors give their take on shows with ingenious editing to bring the show together.
And those appearing on our screens from the comfort of their own sofas have now effectively become as famous as some of those whom they are tasked to comment upon.
Googlebox returns for the 18th series tonight September 17th at 9pm.
