Gogglebox's Tom Malone makes cheeky jibe about 199 steps on trip to Whitby with Julie

It is not every day that we see our favourite Gogglebox stars away from their sofas.

But today we got a sneek peek into the Malone family' summer jaunt to Whitby for a sunny day at the seaside.

Tom and Julie Malone, from Manchester, posted a video on Instagram of them enjoying their holiday in the North Yorkshire tourist spot.

"Right, well here we are in Whitby, beautiful day," Julie told the camera with Tom in the background.

She continued: "We've just got to find out where we're staying."

But far from being interested in traditional seaside fare, Tom Senior was more interested in getting himself to a pub for a pint.

He said: "Gonna sample some of the local pubs, not the fish and chips!"

And Julie panned the camera to show people exactly where they were, revealing a busy and bustling Whitby full of tourists.

Tom told Julie to show viewers one of the historic boats behind them, commenting: "Riveting stuff that, see you in a pub nearby soon."

He also made a joke about Whitby's famous 19 steps leading up to Whitby Abbey, telling Julie it would 'take her all day' to get up them! The cheek.

It is not clear whether or not Tom Junior or Shaun were in tow, or if the dogs had come along for a trip to the seaside too.

Fans were quick to wish them a happy holiday though, with one person commenting: "Whitby is a fabulous place enjoy x"

Another said: "Looks great hope you have a lovely day"

And one fan said that they were in Whitby the other day but said that it was "hammered" and packed full of people.

Other fans were quick to make their recommendations for some fish and chips, with plenty of people suggesting that Julie and Tom check out the famous Magpie Cafe.
