Gogglebox's Jenny goes home to husband after three months in Lee's caravan

Gogglebox duo Lee Riley and Jenny Newby are parting ways - but only so she can go home to her husband.

The telly loving BFFs have been living together in Lee's caravan for the past 11 weeks, after being forced into a Covid bubble by Channel 4 bosses.

Last night Lee tweeted that he was bidding farewell to his friend as filming wrapped up and their lives returned to normal.

He tweeted: "Thanks for watching everyone time for Jenny to see her husband after 3 months with me.

"Really going to miss her tho have a great summer everyone. SEE YOU ALL IN SEPTEMBER xx."

The status might have surprised some fans who wrongly believe that they are husband and wife, or even mother and son.

In fact they are just best friends of 20 years, and their funny chemistry has really helped buoy the mood of lockdown Britain over the past few months.

The pair have cheered up the nation with their weekly commentary on the nation's biggest TV moments, with Jenny even being immortalised in a series of memes due to her obsession with Line Of Duty and scribbling clues and plot points into a notebook.

However, there were fears that she was jacking in the show - not to join AC12, but because she was musing about picking up her pension in a few months.

She said: "I'm 66 you know, I get my pension in June, I've been notified."

Lee chirped back: "You are one of those old women aren't you who goes 'don't you know how old I am, I'm 66 you know?'"

Jenny said: "Oh no, I don't ever say that. I tell them I'm 48 and I've had a hard life."

Earlier this month they posted an Instagram video to reassure fans that they would be back on screens in the autumn after they sparked fears that they were turning the telly off once and for all.
