Jenny Newby was so upset with the outcome of Line Of Duty, she furiously screwed up the notes she had been making throughout the series.
The 64-year-old Gogglebox star summed up the nation's feelings with her actions, with many panning the season finale and the much hyped reveal of the "fourth man" or "H" as they were known.
Jenny, who stars on the Channel 4 show alongside 51-year-old Lee Riley from his caravan in Patrington Haven caravan park, had invested many hours in the BBC police drama, with the hope of solving who was the top copper linked with organised crime.
In previous episodes of Gogglebox, she had spoken about how she was taking notes throughout as she turned armchair detective,
It would seem that she was barking up the wrong tree though with her reaction to the big reveal.
Jenny must have not got her man for the crimes as she furiously ripped her pages of notes out of her notebook and screwed them into a ball.
As Lee started to smile at her fury, she threw the ball of paper into his face, telling him: "Don't laugh!"
The former pub landlady struck a chord with many on Twitter, who reacted to her anger.
One fan tweeted: "And she’s absolutely right. Thank you Gogglebox for reacting like the majority of the public. Sod the high brow view! Shockingly bad ending."
Another added: "Jenny's reaction speaking exactly for those who didn't like the ending."
While a third wrote: "Her reaction was just what I wanted."
Such was the furore following the finale, Line Of Duty writer Jed Mercurio took to Twitter to explain why they had a "down" ending: "1. No one disputes the Line of Duty finale divided social media opinion but the audience research so far shows a far less extreme picture.
"We knew a "down" ending would rate less favourably with some viewers, however all 7 episodes varied by under 10% on average viewer score ...
"2. The research determines the episode ratings based on randomly polling viewers, rather than sites like imdb where scores can be skewed by users strongly motivated to register their immediate anger/adulation …"
He continued: "3. 1000 random viewers submitted scores from 1-10 which have been used to calculate the Appreciation Index (AI) as a score out of 100. The AI for the “down” finale was only 7 points below the next lowest in Season 6 (Ep 1) …
"4/4 These figures won’t stop the debate, of course, nor should they - that’s still all part of the experience of shared TV viewing. Thanks again for watching."
