Gogglebox's Jenny and Lee apologise in message to fans after quitting fears

Gogglebox stars Jenny Newby and Lee Riley have shared a message with fans after fearing they had quit.

The popular duo were missing from the Channel 4 hit's latest show on Friday night.

And it didn't go unnoticed by viewers.

Gogglebox fans quickly took to social media to express their concerns over their absence - especially as new faces joined the programme for the first time.

The best pals have appeared on the show from the sofa of Lee's caravan in Hull since 2014 and have been friends for more decades.

But fans need not worry as the pair have now explained all.

Taking to Instagram with two selfies, one on a plane and another enjoying a quick sunshine break, they shared: "SORRY FOLKS WE’RE COMING BACK SEE YOU ALL ON FRIDAY #gogglebox."

Jenny and Lee had made a brief dash to Cyprus where Lee's partner Steve Mail was celebrating his birthday.

Lee makes the trip back between series to be with his other half.

And let's just say fans were relieved.

"Thank god for that," one commented.

Another said: "Woohoo! Missed you two!"

"So glad....Gogglebox wouldn't be the same without you 2," a third added.

A fourth shared: "Oh thank heavens!! I was worried you's had left! Hope you've had a blast."

During Friday night's show, new cast members also made their debut appearance on Friday night's Gogglebox.

Brother and sister Simon and Jane were seen for the first time, watching along from their brown leather sofas with an impressive collection of books behind them.

The latest additions come after a number of departures from the show in the last year.
