Gogglebox's Jenny and Lee apologise for worrying fans with confusing 'goodbye' message

Gogglebox favourites Jenny and Lee have apologised to fans for a confusing 'goodbye' message that had viewers worried they were leaving the show.

The best mates are undoubtedly one of if not THE most popular duo on the Channel 4 show, with Jenny being a particular highlight in the current series, thanks to her dedication to Line of Duty, with her armed with a notepad and pen every Sunday night to try and get to the bottom of all things AC-12.

Like in previous series, Jenny moved in with Lee in his caravan to film so they could bubble up in accordance with Covid regulations.

And it was a post the pair made on their joint Instagram account about Jenny leaving to go home that had some fans worried she, if not both of them, were leaving Gogglebox for good.

"Happy Friday everybody," Lee began, but Jenny added "and sad Friday".

Lee asked: "Why so sad?" with Jenny replying: "it's my last one". Lee said: "Oh yeah it's our last filming week this week so we're filming today... "

"And I'm going home soon," chipped in Jenny.

Lee also posted on Twitter about it being 'D-Day' for Jenny, to which one fan replied: “Lee are you guys finished with gogglebox or just saying goodbye for end of the series? U guys have Been so funny.”

Clearing things up, and apologising for any confusion, Lee told them: “Just saying goodbye to series 17 back in September sorry,”

Just like Lee and Jenny, fellow Gogglebox star Ellie Warner revealed it would be back in September.

She took to Instagram to post: "Cheers all last episode of @c4gogglebox tonight but never fear we’ll be back in September! Have a nice summer everyone and don’t forget to vote for us at the BAFTAs.

"...thanks to all the production staff who make it all happen they’ve not got long off before celebs start in couple of weeks! They’re the real MVPs"
