Gogglebox favourites Izzi and Ellie Warner are reportedly taking a break from the hit Channel 4 show this week.
Ellie’s boyfriend, Nat Eddleston, is fighting for his life in hospital after he was hit by a car in Leeds last weekend. It has been reported he has been on life support and has suspected brain damage after the horror crash outside the Woodman pub in Halton.
The Leeds based duo have reportedly been told by programme producers to take all the time they need before returning to the Channel 4 show. Nat is currently in a critical but stable condition.
Hairdresser Ellie, who has appeared on the hit Channel 4 show alongside her sister Izzi since 2015, has been by his side in hospital since the accident.
A source told The Sun : "Channel 4 take duty of care really seriously. Obviously Ellie and Izzi are two of the most loved regulars on the show but it wouldn't be right for them to have to film a light-hearted show when Nat is in such a critical condition.
"Producers have made it clear there is no pressure to return to filming and they can take all the time they need."
Ellie and Izzi have been fan favourites with Channel 4 viewers since they first appeared on Googlebox back in 2015.
Many of their early Gogglebox scenes were filmed at their Yorkshire family home, where eldest sister Ellie still lived at the time. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Izzi took a brief break from the show in 2020, with Ellie's boyfriend Nat stepping in to cover the star.
