Gogglebox fans were left worried that it had been taken off air on Friday night.
While many shows across the country have been forced to suspend production due to the coronavirus pandemic, the hit Channel 4 show has remained on air with its stars having cameras installed in their homes, rather than having film crews on location, to get around social distancing.
That has meant we've seen the likes of Lee and Jenny and Giles and Mary reacting to the programmes that have kept us entertained over lockdown and the many news bulletins and daily briefings about coronavirus that millions of us have been tuning into on a regular basis.
It was announced last week that the current series would be ending but that didn't stop a flurry of tweets coming in from concerned viewers on Friday as Channel 4 aired a 'best bits' episode rather than a regular one.
One tweeted: " #wheres the proper gogglebox," and another reacted: "Just a thought WHY was last night's Gogglebox a repeat!!"
Another mourned the fact that we wouldn't get to see Gogglebox favourites' thoughts on a certain Government adviser's driving exploits, tweeting: "Shame that #Gogglebox with a larger audience was not broadcast with reaction to Cummings episode," and in agreement, another responded: "I actually switched it on hoping for just that - crying shame. Any #Gogglebox folk out there - how about a #CovidCummings Special?"
Gogglebox fans shouldn't have to wait too long for more episodes as the new series is due to start at the end of summer and the void will soon be filled by the return of Celebrity Gogglebox.
