Gogglebox favourites Jenny and Lee enjoy boozy night out celebrating show's anniversary

Gogglebox stars Jenny Newby and Lee Riley enjoyed a boozy night out as they celebrated a major milestone.

The duo are a fan favourite pairing on the Channel 4 show since joining in 2014. This week marks the 10th anniversary of the hit series and the cast are out and about marking the occasion.

Taking to Instagram, Jenny and Lee shared a video to their joint account as they raised a glass to Gogglebox. Speaking to their 740,000 followers, Lee said: "Hi everyone, we would just like to wish all the families on Gogglebox - past and present, from the chief execs, to the PD's, to the runners - happy birthday."

"Ten years of Gogglebox today." Before Jenny chimed in: "And to the families who make it Gogglebox."

Fellow Gogglebox star Ellie Warner commented on the post: "Cheers. Happy birthday."

Fans flooded the comments congratulating the pair and the show on the big anniversary. One wrote: "I absolutely love you two! I’m from N.Wales but living in Austria and you remind me of family the tv nights I miss so much, yet you make me smile all the way through! here’s to the next 10years please!!"

Another user added: "Happy 10 years Think you’re all fab, especially you two balmy buggers. Just wouldn’t be the same without you. Congratulations and love." A third said: "Happy 10th birthday to everyone involved in Gogglebox & thanks for all the giggles on a Friday night, been fabulous."

Jenny and Lee also appeared on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show to mark the anniversary but sent the studio into chaos after accidently swearing live on air. Appearing on the BBC Radio 2 show, the pair played a game where they were played clips from the show and had to guess what TV show they were reacting too.

Responding to the one of the clips, Lee accidentally said: "Oh yeah that was that green sh*t." The Channel 4 star quickly realised his error and apologised to listeners, while Zoe added: "Sorry for the language."

The iconic broadcaster added that former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher had appeared on the show, and managed to avoid using bad language during his stint. After Zoe quipped: "If it's going to be anyone [who swears] let it be Lee from Gogglebox."
