Gogglebox fans are especially eagle-eyed, it seems.
Friday night's episode saw some take to Twitter to ask why fan favourites the Malone family don't tuck into the cakes they put out.
The Malones' segment on the show usually sees a display of sweet treats set out, but they never have at them.
One confused fan wrote: "Do the Malones put the cakes back in the box after filming and bring them back to shop for a refund because they don't ever eat them, they're are just ornamental pieces."
Another claimed: "I'm able to see how many days of filming have happened just by checking the Malones' uneaten cakes."
A third seemed enraged, asking: "Why don't the Malones buy crisps? Or party nibbles? Anything but those chuffing cakes they never eat."
A fourth laughed: "Sat watching Gogglebox and the families on there make me laugh and am wondering is anyone in the Malone family actually going to eat those cakes or are they just for show?"
The Manchester family - Julie, Tom Senior and kids Tom Junior and Shaun - are often joined by their beloved pooches, who've become a hit with fans.
Other Goggleboxers include best mates Jenny and Lee, take-away-obsessed sisters Ellie and Izzi, and sarcastic Bristolians Mary and Marina.
