Gogglebox fans thrilled as Ellie Warner returns to Channel 4 show after boyfriend's crash

Gogglebox fans were happy to see Ellie Warner back on the show tonight after her boyfriend's horror crash.

The Yorkshire star of the Channel 4 show had been off screen since March after her partner Nat Eddleston was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being involved in a horrific car crash.

Ellie has been taking some time away from the show so she can be by her boyfriend's bedside.

Fans tuning into the show this evening were glad to have Ellie - and her sister Izzi - back on their screen an took to Twitter to share their messages of support and love for the reality star.

Taking to social media, one fan wrote: " #gogglebox ellie. Shocked to see you tonight but Brilliant to see you back on TV tonight hope Nat is getting better."

"So good to see Izzi & Ellie back on #gogglebox this evening. Hope Nats recovery is going well !! #leeds #c4," a second added, as a third wrote: "I'm glad Ellie and Izzi are back I've missed them #Gogglebox."

A fourth happy fan penned: "Great to see Ellie and Izzi back on Gogglebox tonight, must have been a difficult couple of months for them and their family. #Gogglebox."

Earlier today, Ellie took to social media to reveal she'd be back on the show tonigh t and insist things were getting back to "normal".

"Looking forward to getting back on your screens tonight!" she wrote to her fans on Instagram as she shared a selfie of her and her sister, "Thank you for all the well wishes, we are really grateful that things are getting back to normal."

Ellie had been taking some time away from the programme to support her boyfriend, with a source sharing previously: "Ellie has been told to take all the time she needs - everyone on the show is hoping and praying Nat will be ok."

It is believed bosses have paid her full fee for the show, despite her missing some episodes in a showing of support.

"Bosses paid Ellie her full fee for the show - they didn't want her or Izzi worrying about money," the insider said, "Of course they've honoured the payments - they take duty of care very seriously on the show."

Ellie and Izzi have been fan favourites with Channel 4 viewers since they first appeared on Googlebox back in 2015.
