Gogglebox fans taken aback by Pete Sandiford's makeover

Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford left viewers in hysterics as he debuted a new hairstyle on tonight's show.

The fan favourite returned for the latest edition of the popular Channel 4 programme to provide some hilarious commentary on the week's best TV.

The 26-year-old was joined on the sofa by sister Sophie - and provided observations on shows such as This Morning, The Cube and Celebrity Ghost Trip.

However, viewers were in stitches when his younger sister decided to give Pete a makeover as they were waiting for the next programme to start.

Sophie used her hair dryer on Pete as she tried out a new style while he continued to watch the TV.

Pete eventually stopped Sophie after he joked it was too hot - and was mortified when he saw the results.

Fans on Twitter erupted at the exchange and were stunned at Pete's new look.

Sara said: "Look at the volume that’s put in Pete’s hair!"

Mike added: "Pete looks like he’s been electrocuted."

Christopher tweeted, alongside laughing emojis: "His hair."

Scott posted : "Lol Pete."

Chan compared Pete's new look with a picture of his great uncle's, the Chuckle Brothers, and said: "Now Pete definitely looks like."

Gogglebox continues next Friday at 9pm on Channel 4
