Gogglebox fans overjoyed as Ellie Warner announces return to show after boyfriend rushed to hospital

By Charlotte Smith

Gogglebox star Ellie Warner has announced she will be returning to the show during tonight's (May 13) episode - and fans couldn't be happier.

The 31-year-old hasn't appeared on the popular Channel 4 show since her boyfriend Nat Eddleston was rushed to hospital last month after being hit by a car during a night out in Leeds. Nat was left severely injured, including suffering a broken neck, a broken back and two collapsed lungs, and was admitted to intensive care following the horrific incident.

Ellie was set to miss the rest of the series due to taking time off to take care of Nat, who is said to be in a 'critical but stable' condition after being placed on a life support machine. But the Gogglebox star took to social media today, in her first post on Instagram since March, to reveal she will be on the programme tonight.

In a picture captioned: "Looking forward to getting back on your screens tonight! Thank you for all the well wishes, we are really grateful that things are getting back to normal," Ellie can be seen sitting on the sofa next to her sister Izzi Warner, while holding up a cup of tea.

Unsurprisingly, thousands of fans flocked to comment on the image to share their well-wishes and joy at having the duo back on TV screens, who have been on the award-winning show since 2015.
