Gogglebox fans left cringing as celebs watch Netflix drama Sex/Life

Gogglebox fans were left cringing after tuning into the show with their parents on Friday evening.

Viewers of the celebrity edition of the Channel Four programme were left feeling very awkward as they showed scenes from the new Netflix drama Sex/Life.

Some of the celebs themselves were visibly uncomfortable watching the risqué storyline unfold.

Cast members including Maureen Lipman and Denise Van Outen were among the stars who were quick to react in shock to what they were seeing on screen as they were tasked with watching the racy drama in their living rooms.

Sex/Life, released to stream on Netflix last week, involves married woman Billie becoming obsessed with the wild sex life she had before she settled down, which leads her to an infatuation with her bad boy ex Brad all over again, just as her husband Cooper reads her online journal about everything she used to get up to, Chronicle Live reports.

Gogglebox fans were just as shocked as the celebs at Netflix drama Sex/Life (Channel 4)

One of the scenes sees the two men share a shower in the gym as Cooper tries to pluck up the courage to speak to his wife's former flame.

If you've seen the episode in question you'll know that there is a certain full frontal shot involving Adam Demos, the actor who plays Brad.

And that was the very scene that the Celebrity Gogglebox cast set their eyes on, resulting in some priceless reactions.

Both former Big Breakfast host Denise and pop star Anne-Marie were left open mouthed as they watched the episode, with Denise next to her other half and Anne-Marie sharing a sofa with Ed Sheeran.

Co-star Martine McCutcheon was left fanning herself, joking: "It's the weather!" and viewers at home were quick to react on Twitter, many left squirming at the fact they were watching Friday's show with their parents.

One posted: "Watching Sex/Life on Gogglebox with my parents is awkward" and another tweeted: "Watching Gogglebox with my f**king parents and they pull out Sex/Life"

Reacting to the scene itself, after hearing so much about it, a third commented: "I've been wondering all week what the shower scene in Sex/Life is all about, after seeing people talking about it everywhere. Thanks Gogglebox for solving that mystery."
