Gogglebox fans in hysterics as Mary and Marina return and make ‘kinky’ comment

Gogglebox fans were delighted as they tuned into the show on Friday night and saw OAPs Mary and Marina back on their screens.

The two elderly ladies have been absent from the Channel 4 show all season, but returned for the final episode as they tuned into various TV shows.

At one point, Mary made a rather racy comment as she and Marina tuned into a Bear Grylls show.

As the pair revealed that they wouldn't want to take on one of Bear's tough challenges, Mary admitted that she'd like him to invite her to a hotel.

"It wouldn’t be tame if he was in a room with me," Mary told Marina, and her comment left Gogglebox fans in hysterics.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: "Honestly can't deal with Mary and Marina#gogglebox."

Another added: "Oh, it’s so good seeing Mary & Marina back on screen! #Gogglebox," while a third joked: "Mary is a kinky old lady #Gogglebox."

A fourth person commented: "Mary the little minx," while another tweeted: "Yey!! They are back!! And back on form #Gogglebox."

One other viewer said: "I have missed Mary and Marina, I just wanna be sipping cocktails with the old gals in their retirement home #Gogglebox."

It was revealed last year that Gogglebox bosses were forced to stop filming with Mary and Marina due to coronavirus.

The show's creator Tania Alexander opened up about the issues they faced when producing the show during the ongoing lockdown.

She confirmed that they had made the tough decision to half filming with the elderly ladies because of the virus risk.

"Unfortunately, it was not possible to film with the full cast," Tania wrote for The Telegraph.

"For example, we took the decision to tell Mary and Marina, who are in their 90s and live in a care home, that we didn’t want them put at any risk so we should stop filming with them altogether.

"The ladies are safe and well looked after but often tell us they dearly miss the crews and the fun they have during filming each week."
