Gogglebox fans confused by Ellie Warner's 'strange' eggs in New Year's Day snap

Gogglebox's Ellie Warner took to social media to thank her fans for their support and love over the past year.

Ellie and her sister Izzi have had an impressive year - the pair were voted the most enjoyable family to watch on the Channel 4 show and they got to show off the awards Gogglebox won this year.

It won the award for the best Factual Entertainment Programme for the seventh year in a row at the NTA and also scooped a gong at The Television and Radio Industries Club - TRIC Awards.

And as Ellie heralded in the New Year with a brunch, the quirky fry-up got fans talking.

Ellie captioned her food: "New Year’s Day brunch! Start as I mean to go on! New year same me.

"New Years blessings to all my friends, family, colleagues and followers! Thank you for all your love and support in 2021!

"I hope 2022 brings good luck and good fortune to you all".

The sisters have become a big fan of local bakery Get Baked - who hit the news this year after becoming embroiled in an 'illegal sprinkles' row - and it was the company who first pointed out Ellie's strange scrambled eggs.

They replied to the star: "Yeah all good love but those eggs really are a disgrace."

With Ellie joking: "what do you have against my eggs?, the firm commented: "are they scrambled? Can’t even tell.

"Also, toasted ciabatta with a full English? What has fame done to you.

"HP sauce is only there to make you look like the rest of us, guarantee it doesn’t end up on the plate and you opt for some expensive chilli jam."

The conversation quickly got fans discussing what else was missing from the plate with suggestions including hash browns and spam.

Ellie had shared some more highlights of her year including pictures with her sister and friends and her house renovations.
