One Gogglebox family has addressed claims they have been 'dropped' from the show.
The Channel 4 series returned last Friday much to the delight of fans as our favourite armchair critics dished out their opinions on the latest telly.
But following the first episode of the 17th series, some reports suggested The Baggs family, who joined last year, had been axed from Gogglebox.
The Essex- based family- made up of mum Lisa, dad Terry and sons George and Joe - didn't appear in the first episode last week leading to the speculation they were dropped over 'viewer backlash'.
But mum Lisa has taken to her Instagram page to fire back at the claims and give the real reason for their absence.
Sharing a link to an article claiming they were axed from the show for failing to impress viewers, Lisa shot back: "I can categorically say this is a total LIE!
"Due to covid restrictions we are unable to film the current series.
"Channel 4 have been wonderful to work with and we hope to be back one day soon."
Eldest son Joe also addressed the rumours.
"Frustrating to address this but we weren't dropped," he said.
"Due to the lockdown there aren't enough cameras to go round to t he entire cast and therefore we decided as a family to take a series off.
"Of course there was criticism about us, the producers said this happens to all new families so it's not uncommon and not a reason for people to get cut from the show."
The Baggs' joined the show last September were already pretty well known on TikTok via Joe's account.
