Gogglebox families gobsmacked at musical intro to new Bake Off series

The Gogglebox families couldn't help singing and dancing along as the stars of Bake Off unleashed their inner rock stars for a musical opening to the new series.

Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith and hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas, performed a baking-themed rendition of Billy Cyrus’ Achy Breaky Heart - retitled My Flaky Pastry Tart.

"Oh we've got a drummer!" said Sophie in Blackpool as the camera zoomed in on a drum stick.

"No it's Paul Hollywood!" brother Pete added as the judge was revealed to be wearing a mullet wig.

"Is it a mullet that?" he asked Sophie.

"Yeah it is," she responded. "Business at the front, party at the back."

"That is Paul Hollywood," he remarked, adding: "Paul looks like he's ran through the rails of TK Maxx."

"They're jazzing it up Mary", was the verdict of Giles in Wiltshire.

"Is this what they do at pop concerts Mary?" he added.

Abbie and Georgia in Durham were soon among those singing along, with Marcus in London adding: "This is wicked."

Jenny in Hull clapped in time to the music, while Stephen and Daniel even had their dogs dancing.

There was just one more question from Giles: "Do you think that could be Christmas number one Mary?"

Gogglebox is on Channel 4 every Friday at 9pm.
