Gogglebox families brought to tears by Rose and Giovanni's extraordinary Strictly routine

The Gogglebox families were moved to tears as they watched Rose and Giovanni's unforgettable Strictly silent dance.

Saturday's episode of the BBC show saw the couple perform to Symphony by Clean Bandit - before the music dropped out for an extraordinary sequence of moves.

Rose is the first deaf celebrity to appear on the show and has spoken of how she hopes to raise awareness for the deaf community.

Jenny in Hull was visibly emotional, telling friend Lee: "Oh this is the bit for the deaf people," before shouting "Get in there!" and clapping as the music kicked in again.

Helena in Salford said: "What's going on?", with mum Alison explaining: "This is her world. Isn't that beautiful."

"They've stopped the music!" Sophie in Blackpool exclaimed.

"How good is that?" brother Pete said. "That's incredible."

Sophie said it was her favourite Strictly dance of all time, adding: "You just can't help but smile watching that."

Pete agreed, saying: "It's just dead lovely isn't it. I think it's the best one ever."

Newcomer Ronnie, watching with Annie in South London, admitted: "I got a bit choked up".

Stephen in Brighton was also emotional as he explained the significance of the moment to husband Daniel, saying it sent out "a really powerful message".
