Gogglebox celebs and fans raging at man's first date 'no no' behaviour

Celebrity Gogglebox may not be the first place that anyone would venture for romantic advice.

But on Friday (June 25) evening's show, there were some top tips for those who were dipping their toes in the dating pool.

The celebs were hanging out on their couches watching First Dates when the inexplicable happened.

The chap on the date with the gorgeous girl asked the waiter to keep him up-to-date on the Manchester United football score.

Needless to say, there were some unimpressed faces on those sofas.

Gary Kemp, with his son Ronan, was appalled that the woman on the date was taken in by the football fan, saying: "Oh, no!" while he held his head.

Others were more demonstrative.

"Keep me posted about the United score?" said Derry Girls' Jamie-Lee O’Donnell watching with co-star Saoirse-Monica Jackson, both clearly baffled.

Jamie-Lee later added: "Why did you go to the date, go watch the match," which is the sort of good sense which spoke to viewers.

Scott said on Twitter: "That Man United fan on #FirstDates was an utter b*****d."

Andy Hyde tweeted: "Completely agree that girl was well out of his league on first dates!!"

As for the commentary, Alice was thrilled and tweeted: "The Derry Girls on #CelebrityGogglebox is truly making my Friday evening."

Sharon wrote simply: "The addition of Derry Girls to Celebrity Gogglebox is a stroke of genius" - and so say all of us.
