Gogglebox stars were left horrified by killer Chris Watts' chilling confession when asked to watch Netflix's American Murder: The Family Next Door.
The documentary was only released last week but is already one of the most talked about shows of this ye,r with viewers across the world heartbroken and startled by what they've seen.
The documentary examines the disappearance of Shanann Watts and her children in August 2018 and the terrible events that followed.
As police searched for clues and flyers were circulated appealing for information, the answer lay a lot closer to home as it was Shanann husband's Chris Watts who was responsible, with him killing his pregnant wife and their two children Bella, four, and Cece, three.
Initially, Watts only admitted to killing Shannan, telling detectives she had killed the girls by smothering them but, near the end of American Murder it is revealed that he pleaded guilty to everything, a revelation that shocked the Gogglebox cast to the core.
As the episode cut to the Michael family, Louis exclaimed "He pleaded guilty? To all of it? To everything?" Echoing those sentiments, David and Shirley were equally stunned, turning to Shirley and saying: "Jesus Christ. He did."
The camera also went onto mum and daughter duo Paige and Sally who looked like they couldn't quite comprehend what was happening, with Sally saying: "Paige he killed them."
One viewer, who'd already seen American Murder, had to turn over. tweeting: "They’re showing American Murder from Netflix on gogglebox and I’ve had to change the channel. I’ve been a true crime enthusiast for over 10 years years and nothing has ever, ever effected me like that program."
Another posted: "American Murder is such a heartbreaking watch."
