Gogglebox bosses have revealed there is actually no way of applying to be on the show as it returns to screens this weekend.
The massively popular programme which sees millions of viewers tuning in every Friday night to watch other people watching TV, has now been running for seven years, making household names from the likes of Scarlett Moffatt and Steph and Dom, with recent fan favourites include pairs of siblings Ellie and Izzi and Pete and Sophie and best mates Jenny and Lee.
The new series starts on Friday night with the Gogglebox cast also including Giles and Mary and The Siddiquis but, if you fancy being on the show, there's some bad news.
In the past, there have been ways of applying to be a cast member online but any links you spot these days are definitely out of date as a Gogglebox press spokesperson confirmed to ChronicleLive there is no way for anyone to put themselves forward.
They said: "We are not currently casting and there is no way to apply to be on Gogglebox.”
The Gogglebox cast are thought to earn £1,500 a month for being on the show, as well as receiving free takeaways to tuck into while they're watching and commenting on TV.
Shows confirmed to be discussed on the new series include Saturday Night Takeaway, This Morning and Netflix documentary Surviving Death.
But one cast member who won't be seen in the new series is Tom Malone Jr.
He announced he'd quit the show in an Instagram post on Thursday, writing: " So after 6 and a half years it’s finally time to put down the remote, and to say goodbye to Gogglebox.
"I’ve loved every minute and I’m eternally grateful to @channel4 and @studiolambert for allowing me to be a part of the show. But new opportunities are knocking on the door and it’s time to explore them.
"I look forward to enjoying the show as a viewer and not having to worry about having said something stupid. PS. Don’t worry my family @themalonesgb and @shaunmalone95 will still be on the show to keep you guys entertained"
