Want to go big when you break your Lent chocolate fast on Easter Sunday? Godiva has delivered with the ultimate hand-crafted Easter egg.
The chocolate brand's creative development chef, Cherish Finden, has designed the world’s most expensive Easter egg, made entirely from Belgian chocolate. The final product weighs in at 65 kilograms and stands a metre tall and half a metre wide.
“We have been working for over 200 hours to perfect the egg,” says Finden. “This is my second Atelier egg with Godiva, and this year we wanted to go even bigger and more extravagant.”
After the 200 hours of work between Finden and her three assistants, the giant egg was complete and finished with floral accents. Handmade flowers, petals and hearts cover the egg, and the gold Godiva ‘G’ sits atop the chocolate monument for the chocolatiers’ signature finish.
The Belgian chocolate masterpiece lives at Godiva’s St. Pancras International boutique and will stay on display there until Easter Sunday. “The spring Atelier egg captures the artistic and premium craftsmanship of the brand whilst celebrating the colour and energy of the season,” adds Finden. “Godiva is famed for its intricate artistry, and I think that comes across from the level of detail included in the design.”
