TIRUPATI: The 9-day annual Brahmotsavams of Goddess Padmavathi-the divine consort of Lord Venkateswara, began on a grand note at the Tiruchanoor temple near Tirupati on Sunday.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams priests ceremoniously carried out the Dwajarohanam rituals by hoisting the Gaja Patam earlier in the day.

Deputy Chief minister K Narayana Swamy presented Pattu vastrams on behalf of the state government.

Later in the evening, Goddess Padmavathi Ammavaru adorned with special floral garlands and antique jewelry, was taken out in a colourful procession encircling the Tiruchanoor temple.
