Video game movie and TV adaptations are all the craze these days, and it's no wonder Sony is chasing that bag with a God of War series. Kratos has been in stasis for the past three years following the announcement, though it seems the show will start filming soon.
As per Nexus Point News, Amazon's God of War TV show will reportedly begin filming in March 2026, nearly four years after being announced in December 2022. The series is currently undergoing casting, with Ronald D. Moore to serve as showrunner. Moore is known for his work on Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek, with decades of experience under his belt, so we can only hope that he'll be able to bring the Son of Olympus to the little screens in a faithful manner.
Nexus Point News also indicates that this God of War show will follow the rebooted GoW timeline, i.e., the one set in Scandinavia and following Kratos and his son Atreus as they traverse the many worlds of the Norse religion.
The show saw a bit of a production hell leading up to this new development, with a reboot occurring last year. However, four years after the fact, we are finally (almost) certain that the series is real and will be coming... at some point.
