Amazon Prime Video has finally confirmed who will play the role of Kratos in their upcoming live-action adaptation of the iconic "God of War."
It has been a long wait for fans who have anticipated what Prime Video's "God of War" will deliver as, since the series' confirmation, there have been no real updates or official confirmations about what the show will offer its viewers.
'God of War' Series Confirms Who'll Play as Kratos

Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video shared a new press release which officially confirms who will play the role of Kratos in their upcoming TV series adaptation of the "God of War" franchise.
The studio has tapped Ryan Hurst to play the Spartan warrior and demigod, Kratos, and deliver a deep dive into his later role not as a warrior, but as a father as seen in the latter games of the franchise.
Ryan Hurst has created a name for himself in Hollywood and has since become a fan-favorite for his roles in "Sons of Anarchy" as Opie Winston, "The Walking Dead" as Beta of the Whisperers, and "Remembering the Titans" as Gerry Bertier, where he co-starred with Denzel Washington.
Hurst is the first cast member who has been named for the "God of War" series adaptation.
The announcement also revealed the exact focus of this "God of War" adaptation, and it will center on two PlayStation games, "God of War" (2018) and "God of War: Ragnarök" (2022), which portrayed Kratos as a father to Atreus and dives deep into Norse mythology.
Kratos Actor Had a Role in 'God of War: Ragnarok'
Hurst is not only known for his Hollywood roles as the actor previously worked with Sony Santa Monica, particularly on "God of War: Ragnarök" as the actor behind the Norse god of thunder, Thor.
Thor is one of the side characters in the game alongside Atreus and has seen his fair share of battles with Kratos. He then becomes inferior against the Spartan in their penultimate battle in Odin's Hall in the game's climax.
