Once the main story is over, you might be wondering if God of War Ragnarök features a true ending, in the form of a proper conclusion for the plot, and gameplay-wise. We’re here to give you the answer to that question, and to do so, we’ll need to drop some light spoilers.
“Light” spoilers as we won’t disclose one or more God of War Ragnarök characters’ fates, but we’ll guide you through a Favor with a quite explicit title attached to it. We’ll walk you through the entirety of it, explaining to you what happens there, how you can reach it, and what you’d need to do.
Spoiler alert: stop reading if you haven’t completed God of War Ragnarök’s main quest.
How to trigger God of War Ragnarök’s ending

In order to see the true God of War Ragnarök end credits, you’ll need to get to “A Viking Funeral” Favor. This mission has two major steps:
- Attend the funeral
- Meet the party at the Sverd Sands
Both of the steps are to be completed in Svartalfheim. The first wants you to reach Lunda, who wants to honor the memory of a dead character at Raeb’s Tavern right in that realm. Go there, and listen to the party’s memories.
With this done, the second half of the Favor sees you going to the Sverd Sands, at the end of the ferry’s path right close to Tyr’s prison. Of course, even though you spent a bit of time there during your main quest, you’ll be able to find the place on your in-game compass.
After reaching the place, and watching the extremely touching and well-connected cutscene, God of War Ragnarök will show you proper movie-like credits. You’ll still be able to keep playing, so don’t worry about that – your journey is far from over.
