'God help them' - Leeds United fans react to Neil Warnock's Championship return

Middlesbrough have reacted quickly following their losing return to action at the weekend by replacing head coach Jonathan Woodgate with Neil Warnock.

Boro's 3-0 home defeat to Swansea means they sit above the relegation zone on goal difference only and after a run of just one wins in their last 12 games, chairman Steve Gibson swung the axe on former Leeds United defender Woodgate, who was in his first senior management role.

Replacing him will be another Leeds old boy in former Elland Road boss Neil Warnock, with the 71-year-old returning for yet another stint in the Championship.

Warnock, who spent just over a year at Elland Road between 2012 and 2013, left Cardiff City back in November, but will now look to mastermind Boro's Championship survival with just eight games of the delayed campaign remaining.

Given both Woodgate and Warnock's Leeds United links, plenty of Whites fans have been reacting to today's developments.

It's fair to say that while Warnock is still not the most popular man in LS11, most Leeds fans are somewhat relieved that they do not have to face one of his teams in the run-in.

Here's how Leeds fans, plus supporters from other Championship sides have reacted to today's news...

Our colleagues at Teesside Live have the latest developments on the story here.

Warnock's Boro stint starts with a trip to Stoke City, who are just two points ahead of them in the Championship table, on Saturday.
