A couple on This Morning were gobsmacked today after being surprised with £1,000.
Pauline Walker was left in floods of tears after her purse containing her children's phone numbers, a key for a disabled toilet and her list of medications was stolen on Saturday.
The 86-year-old's heartbreaking story went viral when husband Geoffrey uploaded a video explaining what happened to devastated Pauline to their Instagram page.
The couple, who now have 123,000 followers on the social networking site, appeared on today's This Morning via a video call.
While they are convinced the purse will not be found, the couple praised everyone for supporting them.
Explaining what happened, Pauline said: "I went into the cafe and had a bit of something to eat and drink. They took my food to the table and didn't have my drink.
"I went to the counter and left my walker, which I shouldn't have done. I think that's when my purse was stolen."
Pauline confessed she was "really surprised" by the public response and could not believe what good friends she has.
Pauline has been sent many new purses and flowers, but got her biggest surprise live on air.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield invited the pair to play a special game of 'Spin To Win' - where they won £1,000.
Stunned Pauline was in disbelief and said: "Oh thank you very much."
