Gobbo summoned to appear in Vic court

Disgraced barrister Nicola Gobbo has agreed to her name being removed from Victoria's legal roll. (AAP)

Disgraced gangland barrister and underworld snitch Nicola Gobbo has agreed to her name being removed from Victoria's legal roll.

She has also been summoned to appear in the Supreme Court next week.

Victoria's Legal Services Board formally applied to the Supreme Court on Monday to have the once-famed barrister's name removed from the roll.

Ms Gobbo has not renewed her practising certificate, which would allow her to work as a lawyer in Victoria, since 2014.

Court documents reveal Ms Gobbo "has indicated her consent to the Board's application for an order that her name be removed from the roll".

The case is listed before Justice Jacinta Forbes next Monday.

Ms Gobbo signed the register of lawyers in April 1997, only a short time after she had first been registered as an informer by Victoria Police.

She first informed on a drug-dealing former boyfriend and later on an employer.

Her third and most prolific stint as an informer ran from 2005 until 2009 when she snitched on clients including killer Carl Williams and drug kingpin Tony Mokbel.

Findings from a nearly two-year royal commission into her relationship with Victoria Police are expected to be handed to the Governor by commissioner Margaret McMurdo next month.
