April 04--History was made a couple of times Sunday afternoon at the United Center.
Patrick Kane scored three goals and added an assist to reach the 100-point mark on the season and coach Joel Quenneville registered his 800th career regular-season victory during the Chicago Blackhawks' 6-4 victory over the Bruins. The Hawks raced to a 6-0 lead before the Bruins stormed back with four consecutive goals to make things interesting.
In addition to Kane's efforts, rookie Artemi Panarin had a goal and three assists and Artem Anisimov added a score and two helpers.
Patrice Bergeron had two goals and an assist and Brad Marchand added a goal and an assist for the Bruins, who suffered a tough blow to their postseason hopes with the loss.
Kane became the first Hawks player to reach 100 points since Jeremy Roenick had 107 during the 1993-94 season.
Ouch
Sitting on 499 career goals, Hawks winger Marian Hossa left the ice during the second period with an apparent left knee/leg injury
Chris Kuc's Three Stars
1. Kane: Winger recorded second career hat trick and added an assist.
2. Panarin: Rookie picked up his second four-point game in a row.
3. Bergeron: Spearheaded the Bruins' comeback with three-point effort.
The quote
"Getting 40 goals is a big achievement. Getting 100 points in today's game ... not too many players in the last few years have accomplished that feat. (Kane) has had a special year. The Breadman (Panarin) along with him has been a nice linemate and he's had a special year as well. Artem quietly goes about his business, but he should get a little more recognition than he's probably received this year." Quenneville on the Hawks' second line, which combined for 11 points against the Bruins.
