Celtic were handed an injury scare overnight after Auston Trusty was stretchered off during the United States’ 3-2 World Cup defeat to Turkey.
The defender had made a dream start, scoring just three minutes in. Trusty controlled a deep corner at the back post before firing home for his first goal of the tournament.

However, the 26-year-old’s night took a turn in the second half when he appeared to roll his ankle. He was eventually carried off on a stretcher, prompting immediate concern with Celtic’s pre-season beginning today and Champions League qualifiers on the horizon.
Trusty has since played down the severity of the issue. “I don’t know. I can’t really react to it,” he told FOX Sports. Honestly, I am in my head right now. I rolled my ankle pretty bad.
