The 20-year-old has been Drogheda's first choice goalkeeper for the past two seasons and made 49 appearances for the Irish side.
The player has previously been linked with moves to Scottish duo Aberdeen and Dundee United.
Senior goalkeepers currently on the books at Bolton include Joel Dixon and veteran Matt Gilks, the latter of whom is also the club's goalkeeping coach.
Championship side Bournemouth have also been linked with the stopper, who had a call-up to the Irish under-21s squad for European qualifiers in October.
