Goalkeeper open to Notts County return this summer

Scott Loach would be open to a return to Notts County this summer, after the goalkeeper decided to leave Hartlepool.

The former England international is on the lookout for a new club, with the ex-Watford stopper wanting to return closer to his home in Nottingham.

Loach spent two seasons at Hartlepool and was widely acclaimed for his performances, with Pools fans expressing their sadness at seeing him leave the club.

But he  lost his place to Huddersfield’s Ryan Schofield, who has since returned to the Terriers after his loan spell expired at the end of the season.

Nottingham-born Loach is no stranger to Notts, having enjoyed  a two-year spell at the club from 2015 to 2017 making more than 20 appearances.

He is now looking to be closer to his family, having commuted to Hartlepool for the last two years.

Speaking about his departure from Pools on Twitter, the 30-year-old  wrote: “Big thanks to everyone involved at Hartlepool over the last two  years who has made me feel welcome and enjoy my football.

“Unfortunately we couldn’t agree to continue the run. I wish everybody there all the best in the future, and look forward to whatever my future may hold.”
