The numbers of Chelsea's loan army are slowly growing and with one week left of the transfer window the club will be looking to hit the heights of previous seasons in temporary move department.
The likes of Emerson Palmieri and Michy Batshuayi have now made moves and even featured despite only making their moves quite recently.
The Blues youngsters are making their way into first teams across the United Kingdom and a few are making their mark even so early into the season.
We take a look how the loan army got on at the weekend:
Nathan Baxter
Baxter was stuck on the bench as the young stopper was unable to usurp Matt Ingram from the Hull goal as the Tigers fell to defeat against Derby and Fulham in the last seven days.
Next match: 28/08/21 Hull City vs Bournemouth.
Jamie Cumming
It was a mixed afternoon for Cumming who bounced back from early mistake to help Gillingham defeat Morecambe.
Gills boss Steve Evans was impressed with Cumming's character
He told Kent Online : “I love a kid that walks into a dressing room, a young man with a big future, to say ‘sorry boys I have let you down.’ I said to him, ‘okay, I now want a mature performance second half, don’t think about that anymore'.
“I met the coaching staff from Chelsea who were there to see him and they asked me my immediate thoughts and I said, without analysing it too far, ‘yes it was a mistake but what a level of maturity from that kid’. The top man in the Chelsea coaching side said the same.
“He came out for five or six crosses, he was very comfortable, and never looked like conceding second half.
“He had made a mistake but he matured second half, he was excellent.
“If there was any criticism of (Gills’ previous no.1) Jack Bonham, he didn’t make many mistakes but if he did then he would have a wobble for the rest of the match.
“I am looking for a maturity and it was really interesting that the Chelsea goalkeeping staff were saying the same in the stand, ‘let’s see what the recovery is like second half’, and he was excellent.”
Next match: 24/08/21 Gillingham vs Cheltenham.
Karlo Ziger
The goalkeeper joined Slovenian Second League side NK Rudar Velenje until the end of the season, last week but did not feature in their game at the weekend.
Next match: 27/08/21 Rudar Velenje vs Nafta.
Juan Castillo
Castillo had to watch on from the bench as Birmingham ran out 5-0 winners over Luton.
Next match: 24/08/21 Birmingham vs Fulham.
Emerson Palmieri
The Italian defender didn't have to wait long to be thrust into first team action as Lyon drew 3-3 with Clermton Foot. The 27-year-old put in a steady performance on his way to collecting 90 minutes on the pitch.
Next match: 27/08/21 Nantes vs Lyon.
Matt Miazga
The American defender did not feature over the weekend but was presented to the Alaves faithful.
Next match: 27/08/21 Valencia vs Alaves.
Jake Clarke-Salter and Ian Maatsen
Ian Maatsen put in another display where he was able to show his impressive deliveries from the left as Coventry came away 2-1 winners against Ready.
Unfortunately, Jake Clarke-Salter was unable to take to the field in what Mark Robins described as a ''precautionary' move.
He said: "Jake Clarke-Salter missed out and really it was precautionary, I didn't want to play him and then him pull up."
Next match: 28/08/21 QPR vs Coventry.
Levi Colwill
The Chelsea youngster was Huddersfield's hero as he scored the winning goal against Sheffield United. The 94th minute strike was Colwill's first professional goal.
Speaking after the match, the loan star gave a decent insight into his attitude.
He said: “Just before I scored, the Captain had a go at me and told me I should have won a header, so I was thinking to myself that I need to make it right!"
Next match: 24/08/21 Huddersfield Town vs Everton.
Henry Lawrence
Henry Lawrence and AFC Wimbledon fell to their first defeat of the season against Sunderland. The wingback has shown impressive moments since his league debut against Gillingham however.
Next match: 24/08/21 Northampton Town vs AFC Wimbledon
Conor Gallagher
The midfielder made an impressive debut for the Eagles against Brentford but was unable to inspire Patrick Vieira's side to victory. An all-round display showed the loanee's tackling and vision as he game close to a first goal for the club when he hit the crossbar.
Next match: 28/08/21 Watford vs Crystal Palace.
Billy Gilmour
Another impressive display of awareness against a top side for Billy Gilmour but another comprehensive defeat. Norwich fell 5-0 to Manchester City. The Scotland international's cross-field passes impressed, as he became a man of the match contender for some. However, his influence was obviously diminished by the dominance of Pep Guardiola's side.
Next match: 24/08/21 Norwich vs Bournemouth.
Armando Broja
More patience is the word from Southampton again on Armando Broja, who did not feature in the squad to face Manchester United.
“I think when we have a history of developing players and giving them a chance to play in the Premier League, then it’s us," Ralph Hasenhüttl said, when asked if Saints is the best place for Broja to be right now.
“Our role must, in the future, be to bring the best young players to our club that didn’t make it at other clubs, to play consistently and then develop here.
“They will leave us one day, but then they had a good time with us, we had a good time with them and this is the deal we have."
Next match: 25/08/21 Newport County vs Southampton
Michy Batshuayi
The forward made his Besiktas debut with a cameo off the bench as his side drew with Gaziantep.
Next match: 28/08/21 Besiktas vs Fatih Karagümrük.
Kenedy
Reports suggest the former Newcastle loan star is awaiting a negative Covid result before he is able to feature for Flamengo.
Next match: 26/08/21 Gremio vs Flamengo.
