Caen goalkeeper Brice Samba will undergo his Nottingham Forest medical today, according to reports in France.
The 25-year-old shot-stopper has been linked with a move to the City Ground for a number of weeks as boss Sabri Lamouchi looks to provide healthy competition for Manchester City loanee, and current number one, Aro Muric.
The report claims that Caen and the Reds have now reached an agreement for the player, with the fee believed to be 4m euros, allowing the ex-Marseille man to travel to Nottingham to undergo a medical at the Nigel Doughty Academy.
Any deal for Samba will see Costel Pantilimon pushed down the pecking order on Trentside, along with Jordan Smith and Luke Steele.
Steele was yesterday linked with a move to join Millwall on loan as Neil Harris looks for a swift replacement for summer signing Frank Fielding who has been sidelined for a number of weeks.
The Reds have also been rumoured to be keen on signing Derby County and former England 'keeper Scott Carson after he fell out of favour at Pride Park.
