PANAJI: BJP in Goa will go to polls in 2022 with chief minister Pramod Sawant as its face, said BJP’s Goa desk in-charge CT Ravi on Wednesday. He said Sawant’s track record as CM has been good and there has been no negative feedback.
National BJP president J P Nadda, during his visit to Goa last month, had also said that Sawant would be BJP's face for the 2022 elections.
“He has worked as chief minister for the last three-and-a-half years. It is going well. The people of Goa prefer BJP. Our organisational strength here is good. Many good people have joined. This is a small state and surely BJP will win with a simple majority,” said Ravi.
Ravi said that given the circumstances there is no question of not projecting Sawant as the face of the party.
“He is our chief minister. We will go to polls under his leadership and will emerge victorious,” said Ravi.
The BJP has had a good 10 years running the government in Goa and is set to win the 2022 polls , he said.
