Goa police to listen to public issues every Saturday

PANAJI: Goa police’s new initiative — ‘Samadhan’ — which is aimed at lending people a listening ear and helping them find an appropriate solution for their grievances, will be launched on Saturday.

Across the state, people will be invited to the police station to discuss their issues with the sub division police officer (SDPO). People can visit a police station on a Saturday between 11am and 2 pm.

DGP Jaspal Singh told TOI that it has come to his notice that people are unable to meet the SPs and DySPs and so they instead approach the DGP to get their issues resolved.“I have made it mandatory so that people can meet the DySP at the police station,” Singh said.

He said those with pending complaints will be called to find a solution.
